Is Bulin 47 Dominican or Spanish?
Dominican. People sometimes assume he is Spanish because the clip everyone knows was filmed in Madrid, but he was born in the Dominican Republic and makes dembow, the fast street genre from there.
How he got known
He first built an audience with comedy videos on social media, then started posting songs on the same accounts. Around 2016 tracks like "7 Pollos" spread on the Dominican dembow scene, and he has since recorded with many artists from that scene.
That background explains the clip: he reacts fast, plays to the camera and laughs at himself. In Madrid he did all three inside a few seconds, which is exactly what made it easy to remix. Why the video blew up.
His own release from the moment
Six days after the freestyle, the official video of "Dame Hombro" went up on the Bulin 47 Oficial YouTube channel, credited to Bulin 47 and Kevin Wai. What the title means.
